BMS with extended communication functions to improve the battery model

The presentation "BMS with advanced communication capabilities to improve the battery model" covers the integration of EIS (electrochemical impedance spectroscopy) and current pulses in BMS (battery management systems) for modeling and parameterization. Key points are real-time health monitoring, improvements in online characterization of battery parameters and determination of state of charge (SOC) and state of health (SOH) using Kalman filters in IoT environments. An example of a real-time infrastructure for BMS will be presented.

Curriculum vitae

Waleri Milde, M.Sc., studied Embedded Systems Engineering at the University of Freiburg. After successfully completing his studies, he devoted himself to research topics such as efficient hardware and state estimation algorithms for battery systems at Fraunhofer ISE.

He is currently part of the battery technology team at Fraunhofer ISE, which focuses on hardware and software development in battery management systems. He leads various seminars and training courses on BMS and is project manager for several EU projects. As part of various projects, he advises customers from different industries.
