The future meets at the Darmstadtium

The architectural masterpiece also finds perfection in the form of sustainability: a huge funnel-shaped flower made of glass and steel in the foyer of the congress center is used in two ways to conserve resources - to collect rainwater and to draw in fresh air. This is followed by heat recovery from the exhaust air and cooling of the supply air. The collected rainwater is used for sanitary facilities in the building and for watering green areas. In addition, over 400 solar modules on the roof generate around 70,000 kilowatt hours of electricity per year, a Citytree filters air for 430,000 lungs and three bee colonies live on the roof terrace.
