Mr. Frieges is a senior engineer at the Chair of Production Technology of E-Mobility Components at RWTH Aachen University and heads the Battery Technology & Life Cycle department. His work focuses on trends in battery technology, covering the entire spectrum from raw material processes to ready-to-use battery systems. Another focus is the simulation and testing of these systems to ensure their safety and reliability. Another focus is the assessment of second-life concepts and the evaluation of recycling process chains to ensure the sustainability of the battery life cycle. Mr. Frieges, who has a solid background in mechanical engineering, will be appointed to the chair in 2020.
