Combining the forces of standardization and plastics technology to create values for safe ESS
In the renewable energy sector, protective covers for domestic power systems must meet strict legal, aesthetic and practical standards for components and materials, as well as requirements for aesthetics, ease of installation, cost and scalability.
This presentation will look at safety requirements, European and international standards for energy storage and the importance of safety. It will show how plastic can add value in terms of thermal management and contribute to sustainability goals.
Curriculum vitae
Florian studied materials engineering at the Bonn/Rhine-Sieg University of Applied Sciences and holds a degree in engineering. In 2005, he joined Bayer/Covestro as a mechanical engineer for mechanical simulations. In a next step, he took over the technical project management for global automotive glazing projects, which made him responsible for global technical marketing in the field of automotive glazing. From 2017 to 2023, he took on the role of global market developer for automotive composites. Since November 2023, he has been responsible for the technical development of the new energy and power market, covering all residential energy management applications.
