Revolution in server power supply with Infineon's ultra-high power density converter for battery storage units

The rapid growth of data centers due to the increased demand for artificial intelligence has increased the need for innovative, compact and energy-efficient power solutions. A crucial element of these solutions are battery storage units (BBUs), whose power classes must be scalable to meet the growing energy demands and reach up to 12 kW without increasing their physical size. This presents a challenge as batteries are getting larger, resulting in reduced space for DC-DC converters.

Curriculum vitae

Filippo Rosetti studied electrical engineering at the University of Padua and wrote his master's thesis on DC-DC topologies for battery equalization in automotive applications and the associated impedance measurements, which he completed in 2018.

He then continued his career at Infineon Technologies as a product application engineer for intelligent high side switches in automotive applications until 2021. In 2021, he took over responsibility for application marketing in the field of BMS (battery management systems) for industrial applications and led the go-to-market activities with global responsibility, working with key customers to define a value proposition at product and application level.
