Battery simulation workflow - 3D, 1D and AI methods

Battery application simulations involve interactions and iterations across multiple simulation domains, requiring deeper integrations for efficient development processes. Established CAE domains, whether in 3D, 1D or system level simulations, need to be effectively integrated. The focus is on parameter identification for thermoelectric equivalent circuit models, automated model reduction from 3D CFD to 1D/system level and the use of reduced modeling with AI to improve design and optimization studies.

Curriculum vitae

Eric Link holds a Bachelor of Engineering from Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences and a Master of Science from Hamburg University of Applied Sciences. He began his career with the simulation of waste heat recovery systems for large container ships.

This experience was followed by five years in the role of an application expert for system simulations. In the last five years, Eric has focused on virtual verification methods for the automotive industry, with a particular focus on simulation processes for battery design.
