Predictive battery data analysis:
How field data improves battery safety and performance
Lithium-ion batteries (LIB) are a mainstay of our energy future. As with all energy sources, there is a risk of failure. The good news is that LIB systems can collect and transmit large amounts of data.
With predictive battery data analytics, this data can be analyzed to improve battery safety and performance. Cloud-based battery data analytics can detect subtle changes in cell behavior caused by cell or module damage and reliably reduce downtime and prevent critical events. In this presentation, we will explain methods for data collection, processing and analysis of battery data. We will explore the role of cloud diagnostics in combination with the battery management system (BMS).
In addition, we will present algorithms for analyzing field data and show real-world examples of how these algorithms help prevent failures or even incidents in gigawatt-hour battery energy storage systems (BESS) today. Attendees will gain a better understanding of the algorithms behind cloud-based battery diagnostics and how these algorithms detect anomalies and improve the performance and safety of battery storage systems.
Curriculum vitae
As Head of Custom Analytics at ACCURE Battery Intelligence, Darya and her team support industry leaders in the BESS sector by turning battery data into actionable insights that maximize revenue and performance while minimizing risk.
Darya is an expert in battery technologies and specializes in the analysis of field data through the use of data analytics, classical modeling approaches and machine learning.
Darya received her Master of Science in Business Administration and Engineering from the prestigious RWTH Aachen University in Germany. She started her career in battery technology in 2015 in the electrochemical laboratory at ISEA. She then gained extensive industry knowledge in testing battery cells and systems at innovation-driven companies such as Northvolt. Since joining ACCURE four years ago, Darya has progressed rapidly. In 2022, she was promoted to Team Leader Analytics, followed by a further promotion to Head of Custom Analytics in 2024.
